Milk cake, is a delectable Indian sweet that is made from milk and sugar. It holds a special place in traditional Indian sweets and is often prepared during festivals, celebrations, and special occasions. The preparation of milk cake involves reducing and thickening milk until it reaches a solid consistency, and then adding sugar and sometimes flavoring agents.
In this post I am sharing with you the recipe of milk cake made with bread. When you see the name bread milk cake, you might be thinking that it is a baked cake, but no you are mistaken, it is a dessert made with bread, milk and jaggery.
This recipe of bread milk cake is a unique and variety milk cake recipe. I made some variation to the normal milk cake recipe by adding bread and jaggery in it. In the normal milk cake recipe you need to cook milk until it reaches a solid consistency but in this recipe I just boiled the milk for 5 minutes and then added bread powder in it, so no need to cook milk until it reaches a solid consistency. You just need to cook milk until the milk is absorbed well in the bread powder.
In the normal recipe of bread milk cake we are adding sugar as a sweet agent, but in this recipe I have added jaggery powder instead of sugar for making it to a healthy dessert. It is very easy to prepare with just few ingredients. Try this recipe and let me know your feedback.
Bread Milk Cake Ingredients
Bread Slices-4
Milk-1 Cup
Powdered Jaggery-1/2 Cup
Cardamom Powder-1/2 tsp
Chopped Nuts
How To Make BreadMilkCake
- Firstly, cut bread slices into small pieces and transfer it into a blender. Blend it to a fine powder.
- Then roast it for 5 minutes in medium flame.
- Next add 1 cup milk into a kadai and let it boil for 5 minutes.
- Then add bread powder in it and mix it well.
- Stir well until milk is absorbed well in the bread powder.
- Further add powdered jaggery in it. Stir well until jaggery dissolves completely.
- Cook it until the mixture starts to separate from the pan.
- Then add cardamom powder in it and mix it.
- Bread milk cake mixture is now ready.
- Finally transfer the mixture into a butter paper lined pan. Level it and allow it to cool down completely. ( At least for 1 hour).
- Once cooled down completely, take it out from the pan.
- Cut it and serve it. Decorate the top with chopped nuts.
