             Lock-Down Birthday Cake Recipe | Easy Black Forest Cake Recipe Without Oven | How to Make Whipping Cream With Egg Whites with Video Recipe. Today I am sharing here with you all the recipe of the Black Forest Cake that I made for my daughter’s birthday. Blackforest cake is a layered chocolate sponge cake sandwiched with cherries and whipping cream. This time my daughter’s birthday was on coronavirus lockdown period so we couldn’t make it to a big celebration. We used to order birthday cake for her birthdays, but this time I thought to make cake at home. I was in search of a simple cake that I can make for her birthday, my search ended up in this black forest cake. Black Forest cake is an easy to make cake recipe that anybody can make without any experience in cake making. When I thought to make black forest cake for her birthday, I started to search for the whipping cream in stores, but I couldn’t find any whipping cream in any stores, so thought to make whipping cream at home with egg whites. It was my first attempt to make whipping cream at home, but it came out well for me, I thought to share that recipe also with you all as it will be helpful for many who are planning to make birthday cake during this lockdown period as we won’t get whipping cream from stores. I have explained the steps in detail with video recipe in this post. Please watch the video recipe that I am posting at the end of this post. Servings:1/2 kg Blackforest Cake
Ingredients

For Chocolate Cake

  • Egg-4
  • Powdered Sugar-1 cup
  • Vanilla essence-1 tsp
  • Oil-1/4 cup
  • All Purpose Flour/Maida-1 cup
  • Baking Powder-1 tsp
  • Baking Soda-1/4 tsp
  • Cocoa Powder-2 tbs
  • Salt-a pinch

For Sugar Syrup

  • Sugar-1/2 cup
  • Water-1/2 cup

For Icing Sugar

  • Sugar-1/2 cup
  • Cornflour-1 tsp

For Whipping Cream

  • Egg whites-4
  • Hot Water
  • Icing Sugar-3/4 cup
  • Vanilla essence-1 tsp

For Chocolate Ganache

  • Whipping Cream-1/2 cup
  • Dark Chocolate (Chopped)-1/2 cup

Other Ingredients

  • Cherries
  • Grated Chocolate

Method Of Preparation

Chocolate Cake

  • Take 4 eggs in a bowl. Beat it until it turns fluffy.
  • Add powdered sugar little by little into it. Beat it until sugar dissolves completely.
  • Add vanilla essence and oil into it and mix well
  • Place sieve over the bowl. Add all purpose flour/maida, baking powder, baking soda, cocoa powder and salt into it. Mix it well and sift it
  • Mix it gently with a spatula in one direction. Don’t beat it again because it will make the cake hard. so be careful while mixing with spatula, you should mix it very gently and in one direction.
  • Finally add milk into it and mix gently with a spatula
  • Now the cake batter is ready
  • Pour the cake batter into a greased pan
  • Tap it for removing the air bubbles
  • In a kadai add 2 cup salt and level it. Place a rack over the salt. Close the kadai with a lid and cook it in medium flame for 10 minute.
  • After 10 minute, open the lid and place the cake tin over the rack
  • Close it with a lid and cook it in low flame for 45-50 minute
  • After 45 minute, open the lid and insert a toothpick in the middle, if it came out clean then the cake is ready. if not, cook it for few more minutes until done
  • Take out the cake from the pan and allow it to cool down completely

Sugar Syrup

  • In a pan add sugar and water. Heat it in medium flame. Let it boil. Once it started to boil switch off the flame and allow it to cool down completely
Icing Sugar
  • In a mixer add sugar and cornflour. Make a fine powder of it

Whipping Cream

  • In a bowl take 4 egg whites. In plate add hot water and place the bowl over it. Beat the egg whites until it turns fluffy. Once it turned fluffy add the 3/4 cup icing sugar little by little into it and beat it well.
  • Add 1tsp vanilla essence into it and beat well until you get stiff peaks
  • Once u got stiff peaks place the whipping cream in fridge for 15 minute
  • After 15 minute, whipping cream with perfect stiff peaks will be ready for icing
Chocolate Ganache
  • In a pan add 1/2 cup whipping cream. Heat it in medium flame. Stir it continuously and bring it to a boil. Once it just started to boil switch off the flame. Don’t over boil it. Let it rest for 1 minute. After 1 minute, mix it well with a spoon, make sure that no lumps are there
  • Chocolate ganache is ready now. Let it cool and bring to a room temperature

Decorating the Cake

  • Place a cake board in a turning table. Add some whipping cream at the center of the cake board. Place the first layer of the cake over it
  • Sprinkle some sugar syrup over the cake. Add a layer of whipping cream over the cake and spread it all over the cake
  • Add some cherries and grated chocolate over the cream
  • Place second layer of cake over it. Sprinkle some sugar syrup over the cake. Cover the entire cake with a layer of whipping cream
  • Attach star nozzle in a piping bag. Add some whipping cream into the piping bag. Design the edge of the cake
  • Place cherries int the middle of the design
  • Pour chocolate ganache into a piping bag. Cut the tip of the piping bag, with that piping bag design the edge of the cake and write happy birthday and name on the cake
  • Finally add some grated chocolate on top
