Avalose Podi, is a delectable traditional South Indian snack that holds a special place in the hearts and taste buds of many. Avalosepodi traces its origins back to the beautiful state of Kerala in South India. It is a combination of roasted rice flour, grated coconut and cumin seeds. Loved for its crunchy texture and irresistible flavors, Avalosepodi has become a favorite among both young and old alike.

Today I am sharing here with you the recipe of a variety cookie that is made with avalose podi. This time when we went to kerala for vacation, we bought avalose podi. We used to eat it with mashed banana, but my daughter won’t eat it, so thought to prepare some variety snack with it so that my daughter will also eat it. She likes cookies, so made a cookie with avalose podi. 

Avalose podi cookie preparation is very simple. I just added maida, egg, baking powder, baking soda, powdered jaggery, vanilla essence and oil in avalose podi and mixed everything well and made a cookie dough. Here I have baked it without oven, but you can bake it in oven also. Try this avalose podi cookie recipe, if you want to try something variety with avalose podi. Avalose Podi Cookies Ingredients

Avalose Podi- 2 Cup

All Purpose Flour/Maida-1/2 Cup

Baking Powder-1 tsp

Baking Soda-1/2 tsp

Powdered Jaggery-1 Cup

Egg-1

Vanilla Essence-1 tsp

Oil-1/4 Cup

Milk as required

Cashewnuts-Chopped

How To Make Avalose Podi Cookies

  • Firstly, in a bowl add avalose podi, all purpose flour/maida, baking powder, baking soda and powdered jaggery in it and mix everything well.
  • Further add egg, vanilla essence and oil, then mix everything well with your hand.
  • Next add milk as required and mix everything well until it holds a shape. It is a perfect consistency of the dough.
  • Then refrigerate it for 30 minutes and mix it again.
  • Further take a small portion of dough in your hand and roll it into a ball.
  • Then flatten it with your fingers. Decorate it with chopped cashew nuts. 
  • Avalose Podi Cookies are now ready to bake. it inside a baking tray lined with butter paper
  • Take a Kadai. Place a steamer rack inside it. Place the cookie baking tray over the steamer rack. Cook it in low flame for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes Avalose Podi Cookies will be ready. (Bake it at 180 C for 10 mins in Oven).
  • Allow it to cool down completely and serve.
