Jeera Rice Recipe | Restaurant Style Jeera Rice Recipe with video recipe. By following this recipe you can make jeera rice in restaurant style. Jeera rice is one of the popular rice dishes in indian restaurants. Jeera means cumin. In this rice cumin is the main ingredient that gives the flavor for this rice hence the name jeera rice. It is very easy to prepare with very few ingredients that are always available in your kitchen. This rice goes well with any type of curry and even with a raita. Ingredients

Jeera Samba Rice-2 cup

Salt-1 1/2 tsp

Ghee-3 tbs

Cardamom-5

Cloves-5

Cinnamon Sticks-2

Cumin Seeds-1 1/2 tsp

Green Chilies-2

Coriander Leaves- a handful

Lemon Juice-1/2 of a lemon

Split cashewnuts-14

Raisins-14

Water as needed

How To Make Restaurant Style Jeera Rice
  • Soak Rice in water for at least 30 minutes and then drain the water and keep it aside.
  • Take water in a heavy bottomed kadai and let it boil.
  • Then add cardamom, cloves and cinnamon sticks in it.
  • Add the drained rice in it. Then add salt and mix well.
  • Let the rice cook. Once rice is 80% cooked, switch off the flame.
  • Then drain the water completely from rice and keep it aside
  • Heat ghee in a heavy bottomed kadai.
  • Then add cumin seeds in it. Let it splutter.
  • Add green chilies in it and sauté it for 1 minute.
  • Then add drained rice in it and mix it well.
  • Finally add handful of coriander leaves and lemon juice in it and mix it well.
  • Heat ghee in a pan. Add split cashew nuts and raisins in it. Saute it until it turns golden brown in color. 
  • Then add this to the jeera rice and mix well.
  • Jeera rice is now ready to serve.
