Indian Style Chicken Soup Recipe | Healthy Chicken Soup Recipe for Cold and Cough with Video Recipe. Indian chicken soup is one of the most popular dishes in Indian cuisine. It has been found to be great for colds and coughs because of its anti-inflammatory properties. This chicken soup is prepared by cooking chicken broth with onion, ginger, garlic and spices. It can be the best remedy for colds and coughs caused due to the seasonal changes. Chicken is rich in a compound called carnosine, which helps in reducing inflammation by stopping the migration of wbc (white blood cells). Ingredients

Chicken Bones-250 gm

Cumin Seeds-1 tsp

Pepper-1 tsp

Oil-2 tbs

Small Onions-15 (Chopped)

Garlic Cloves-4 (Chopped)

Ginger-1/2 inch (Chopped)

Tomato-1 (Chopped)

Turmeric Powder-1/2 tsp

Salt to taste

Water-3 cup

Black Pepper Powder-1/2 tsp

Coriander Leaves-2 tbs (finely chopped)

How To Make Chicken Soup
  • In a pan add cumin seeds and pepper. Dry roast it until it turns aromatic.
  • Allow it to cool down. Once cooled down, transfer it into a mixer. Grind it into a fine powder. Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add small onions, garlic cloves and ginger in it. 
  • Saute it until it turns golden brown in color.
  • Add tomato in it. Saute it until tomato is cooked well.
  • Add chicken bones in it. Mix it.
  • Add turmeric powder, grounded powder and salt to taste in it. Mix everything well.
  • Add 3 cup water in it. Mix well.
  • Close the lid of the pressure cooker. 
  • Pressure cook it for 7 whistles.
  • Add black pepper powder and coriander leaves in it. Mix it.
  • Cook it for 1 minute.
  • Chicken soup is now ready to serve.
