At that time I searched in internet for the snacks recipes that I can make with leftover idli, so many snack recipes are there in internet, that you can make with leftover idlis, but I felt this recipe as easy as well as healthy one among them, so thought to try this one. Ingredients

Leftover Idlis-5 (Cut into small pieces)
Mustard Seeds-1 tsp
Urad Dal- 1 tsp
Dry Redchilies-2
Curry Leaves
Ginger-1 tbs (Finely Chopped)
Green Chilli-1 (Finely Chopped)
Onion-1 (Finely Chopped)
Turmeric Powder-1/2 tsp
Coriander Powder-1 tsp
Redchilli Powder-1 tsp
Tomato-1 (Chopped)
Salt-1/2 tsp
Garam Masala-1/2 tsp
Water-1/4 cup
Tomato Ketchup-1 tbs
Oil-4 tbs
Method Of Preparation
  • Cut leftover Idlis into small pieces
  • Heat 2tbs oil in a pan
  • Fry the leftover idli pieces till golden brown in color & Keep it aside.
  • Heat 2tbs oil in a pan.
  • Splutter mustard seeds.
  • Add Urad dal, Dry red chilies, Curry leaves, Ginger, Green chilli into it.
  • Saute it until it changes light brown in color.
  • Add chopped onion into it.
  • Saute it until onion turns golden brown in color.
  • Add turmeric powder, coriander powder and redchilli powder in it.
  • Saute it until raw smell of powders goes off.
  • Add chopped tomatoes into it.
  • Saute it until tomatoes are cooked well.
  • Add salt to taste into it.
  • Mix it well.
  • Add garam masala into it.
  • Mix it well.
  • Add water into it.
  • Cook it for a minute.
  • Add fried idli pieces into it.
  • Add tomato ketchup
  • Mix it well.
  • Masala Idli is now ready to Serve
