Crab Curry Recipe

Today I would like to share with you the recipe of Indian Crab Curry, I usually prepares. I love the taste of this curry. It is made with Indian spices. The spices makes it spicy and heavenly. This Indian Crab curry has blend of good spices and coconut. This will make the curry tasty  This curry goes well with steamed rice,bread or chapatis. Just try this recipe. I am sure that once you got the taste of this curry you will make this curry always. Let me know how it turned out for you


Crabs-6 large
Onion,sliced-2 large
Garlic cloves-10
Ginger-1 inch piece
Green chili-1
Turmeric powder-1 tbs
Red chili powder-2 tbs
Coriander powder-1 tbs
Garam masala powder-2 tbs
Grated coconut-1/2 cup
Cumin seeds-2 tsp
Fennel seeds-3 tsp
Coriander leaves-few
Oil-2 tbs

Method Of Preparation

  • First dice the crab and wash it properly
  • Heat oil in a pan and add fennel seeds and cumin seeds in it.when they starts to crackle add 1 sliced onion ( keep the remaining 1 onion aside for tempering) , ginger,garlic and green chili in it and saute it until the onions turns brown in color. 
  • Add grated coconut in it. mix well and saute until the coconut turns brown in color
  • Take the above mixture in a grinder and grind it to a smooth paste by adding water in it
  • Take a pan and heat oil in it and add the remaining chopped onion in it and saute it for few minutes
  • Add tomatoes in it and saute it for few minutes then add turmeric powder, coriander powder,garam masala powder and redchili powder in it and mix well and saute it well until the mixture turns brown in color
  • Add the grounded coconut paste in it. Add salt and Mix well .Check the consistency add water as required. Stir well. Cover with a lid and cook it for 10 minutes. Once it is cooked well,Switch off the flame. Finally garnish it with coriander leaves
  • Crab Curry is ready to serve hot with rice, bread or chapatis
