Pressure Cooker Sardine Curry Recipe | Pressure Cooker Mathi Curry Recipe with Video Recipe. Today I am sharing here with you the recipe of an easy and delicious fish curry made with sardine/mathi. Sardines are known as “mathi” or “chala” in Malayalam. If you are looking for a healthy fish then sardine will be a best option. Sardines are good source of protein, calcium, vitamins, minerals and omega fatty acids, hence including sardine in your diet is good for your health. You can make variety of dishes with sardine. Here I am posting a variety fish curry recipe with sardine. Normally we will make sardine fish curry in kadai or manchatti, but in this recipe I made sardine fish curry in pressure cooker. Ingredients
Sardines-6 nos
Crushed Pepper-1 tbs
Kashmiri Redchilli Powder-1/2 tsp
Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Coconut oil-4 tbs
Ginger-1 tbs (Chopped)
Garlic Cloves-5
Shallots-10-12 (Chopped)
Fenugreek Powder-a pinch
Green chilies-2
Method Of Preparation
- Clean the sardine fishes and make gashes on both sides of the fishes.
- Make a powder mix of crushed pepper, kashmiri redchilli powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste.
- Marinate the fish with this powder mix. Let it rest for 15 minutes.
- Heat coconut oil in a pressure cooker. Add ginger, garlic, shallots and fenugreek powder and green chilies in it.
- Saute it until onion turns translucent.
- Add a handful of curry leaves.
- Spread the marinated sardines on top.
- Add 1 cup thick tamarind juice on top of sardines.
- Close the lid of the pressure cooker and pressure cook for 1 whistle on high flame.
- After 1 whistle switch off the flame.
- Once pressure released open the lid of the cooker.
- Pressure Cooker Sardine Curry is now ready to Serve.
- Finally garnish it with coriander leaves
