Bread Slices-6
Grated Jaggery-1 cup
Water-1 cup
Ghee-3 tbs
Cahewnuts-8
Raisins-6
Method Of Preparation
- Tear off the bread slices to small pieces and add it into a mixer.
- Grind it into a coarse powder & Keep it aside.
- In a heavy bottomed pan add powdered jaggery.
- Add water in it. Mix it.
- Heat it & Let the jaggery dissolve completely.
- Once jaggery dissolved completely, switch off the flame.
- Strain it for removing impurities. Keep it aside.
- Heat 2tbs ghee in a pan.
- Add cashewnuts in it.
- Saute it until it turns golden brown in color.
- Once it started to turn light golden brown in color add dry grapes.
- Saute it until it turns golden brown in color.
- Take out the cashew nuts and raisins.
- Add bread powder in it.
- Saute it until bread powder turns golden brown in color.
- Add jaggery syrup in it.
- Mix it well.
- Cook it in low-medium flame until bread powder absorbs jaggery syrup completely.
- Add cardamom powder in it.
- Mix it well.
- Add milk in it.
- Mix it well & cook it in medium flame until milk is well absorbed and mixture starts coming together.
- Add 1tbs ghee & roasted cashewnuts and raisins in it and mix well.
- Bread halwa is now ready to serve
