Turkey Curry with Chinese Potatoes Recipe

After starting this blog, I got a habit of adding variety in the dishes I usually prepares at home. When I was searching in google for a variety turkey curry recipes, I saw the recipe of a beef curry with chinese potatoes, At that time frozen chinese potatoes was there in my fridge. so for a variety I thought to prepare turkey curry with chinese potatoes. Unlike chicken, turkey has tougher meat and hence needs to be cooked longer but otherwise making the curry is easy. After cooking, the meat pieces becomes so soft and tasty. it got the taste of chinese potatoes also as i added chinese potatoes in this curry. That taste was awesome. Next time when you are preparing any meat curry try to add chinese potatoes in that, then you can also feel the difference in taste between this curry and the normal meat curry. Ingredients

Turkey-500 gms, cleaned and cut into bite size pieces
Chinese potatoes-3/4 cup, cleaned and cut into bite size pieces
Shallots-1 cup, chopped
Ginger garlic paste-2 tbs
Green chilies-2
Curry leaves-10
Turmeric powder-1/2 tsp
Chili powder-1 tsp
Coriander powder-2 tsp
Garam masala powder-1 1/2 tsp
Pepper powder- 1 1/2 tsp
Oil- 4 tbs


Method Of Preparation

  • Marinate the turkey pieces with 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1/2 tsp pepper powder. 1/2 tsp garam masala powder, salt and chopped curry leaves for 15-20 minutes
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped shallots in it and saute it well until it turns golden brown in color
  • Add green chilies, ginger garlic paste and curry leaves into it and saute it for few minutes
  • Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp chili powder, 1 tsp coriander powder, 1 tsp garam masala powder, 1 tsp pepper powder into it, mix everything well and saute it for 5 minutes
  • Next add the turkey pieces and chinese potatoes pieces into it and mix well. Add enough water into it for cooking turkey pieces and chinese potatoes pieces. Cook until the turkey pieces becomes soft and chinese potato pieces becomes tender.
  • Tasty Turkey curry is ready to serve hot with rice or chapati
