I am a big fan of fish curry, so whenever I am taking fasting it will be difficult for me to manage soo many days without fish. One day I saw this recipe in a cooking website and I decided to prepare this curry. It tastes like fish curry even without fish. Today I am sharing here the recipe of my fish curry without fish. I am sure that this curry will satisfy both vegetarian and non-vegetarian taste buds. Try this recipe and let me know how it turned out for you
Ingredients
Kovakka/ Ivy gourd- 5 nos,cut length wise
Raw Plantain-1,cut length wise
Small onions-20,finely chopped
Onion-1,finely chopped
Green chili-1
Garlic-5 cloves
Ginger-1 piece
Tomato-1
Kudampuli(cocum)-3 pieces
Red chili powder-2 tsp
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp
For Seasoning
Oil-1tbsp
Pearl onions-2 nos ,cut into thin round slices
Mustard seeds-less than ¼ tsp
Fenugreek seeds-a pinch
Curry leaves -1 sprig
Method Of Preparation
- Heat oil in a pan then add chopped small onions and big onion in it and saute it well
- Add ginger,garlic and green chili in it and saute well
- Add turmeric powder,red chili powder and coriander powder in it and saute it well
- Then add chopped tomato in it and then add raw plantain and kovakka pieces in it and mix well.
- Add kudampuli(cocum) and salt in it then add some water in it for cooking the plantain and kovakka pieces in it
- Once the plantain and kovakka pieces are cooked well add coconut milk in it and allow it to boil
- Once it starts to boil switch off the flame
- For seasoning-Heat oil in a pan. Splutter mustard seeds, add fenugreek seeds, pearl onion and curry leaves in it and stir until onion turns brown. Pour this over the curry
- Serve it hot with rice
