Pappadam Curry Recipe / Pappad Curry Recipe

Today I would like to share with you a recipe with Pappadam/ Pappad which is very easy to prepare and very tasty also. It goes well with steamed rice or chapathi. Pappadam/Pappad are thin,crispy Indian flatbread made out of lentil flour. It is served as an accompaniment to a meal or eaten as an snack. Usually it is deep fried or grilled over a flame or popped in microwave oven. I added deep fried Pappadam/pappad in this curry. It was very tasty and it takes only few minutes for preparing this curry. You can also try this recipe, I am sure that you will like the taste of this curry. Let me know how it turned out for you


Ingredients

Pappadam/Pappad-10 numbers
Grated coconut-1/2 cup
Small shallots/ Small onions-3
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Redchili powder-2 tsp
Coriander powder-1 tsp
Pepper powder-1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil for deep frying


For seasoning

Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Red chilies-2
Curry leaves-few
Oil- 2 tsp



Method Of Preparation

  • Cut each pappads into 4 pieces. Heat oil in a pan and fry pappad in it. Keep it aside
  • Make a fine paste of coconut,small onions,turmeric powder, redchili powder,coriander powder,pepper powder and cumin seeds
  • Heat oil in a pan and splutter mustard seeds. Then add redchilies and curry leaves in it. Then pour the grounded coconut paste in it and bring it to a boil
  • Then add the fried pappads in this curry and cook for few minutes and switch off flame
  • Tasty Pappadam/ Pappad curry is ready to serve hot with rice or chapathi
