Mushroom Manchurian is a easy to prepare Indo-Chinese recipe. Mushrooms are rich in nutrients and good source of vitamins too..so including mushroom in your meal is good for your health. We usually prepares gobi manchurian only but for a change I prepared manchurian with mushroom as a side dish for rice. It was tastier than the gobi manchurian I usually prepares and my husband liked it very much. You can also give a try for this recipe. I prepared here the dry version of mushroom manchurian. Ingredients
For the Batter
Button mushrooms-200 gms
All Purpose flour/Maida-1 cup
Corn flour-1/2 cup
Pepper Powder-1 tsp
Salt to taste
Water-3/4 cup
For Sauce
Onion-1,finely chopped
Ginger Garlic paste-1 tbs
Green chilies-2-3 finely chopped
Soy sauce-2 tbs
Tomato sauce- 3 tbs
Pepper powder-1/2 tsp
Salt to taste
Spring onions or cilantro leaves for garnishing
Oil for deep frying
Method Of Preparation
- Wash the mushrooms and wipe it off with a tissue paper to remove the moisture and chop the mushrooms into halves or quarters
- Mix all the ingredients for batter in a bowl. The batter should be little thick
- Dip all the mushrooms in it and coat it well with the batter
- Heat oil in a pan and fry the mushrooms in it till light golden brown
- Drain the excess oil and keep it aside
- Heat oil in a pan and add onion,ginger garlic paste and green chilies in it and saute for a minute
- Then add all the sauces,salt and pepper powder in it and mix well(soy sauce and ketchup has salt already in it so be careful while adding salt in it)
- Add little water in it and cook for few minutes
- Add the fried mushrooms in it and mix gently till evenly coated in the sauce
- Garnish with cilantro leaves or spring onions
- Serve hot as a side dish with fried rice or chapathi
