I believe home made jams are the best because we can control sugar quantity,can add our choice of fresh fruits and we know it has been made in a hygiene environment. Moreover in the jams we are buying from outside they will add preservatives, that are not good for our health. so it is better to prepare jam at home. Just follow my recipe then you can understand how easy is to prepare jam at home. Smother your bread with this home made mixed fruit jam

Ripe banana-1
Seedless black grapes-1/2 cup
Sugar-1 1/2 cup or more if required
Lemon Juice-1 1/2 tbs

Method Of Preparation


  • Peel and chop all the fruits. In a mixer or blender add all the fruits and blend until smooth to form a puree
  • In a non-stick cooking pan add the puree then add sugar in it and mix well.cook on medium flame stirring continuously till it comes to a boil
  • Slow flame and let it simmer until the puree thickens. Stirring on regular intervals
  • Once the puree starts to thicken it will become like semi-solid jam.Then add the lemon juice and mix well
  • Cook until jam becomes thick. Keep stirring on intervals. It will take about one and half hour on low heat
  • You can stop cooking once the desired consistency reached
  • Remove from heat ,allow to cool slightly and store in a sterilize jar
  • Smother your bread with this home made mixed fruit jam


  • Make sure to cook in slow flame only and stir regularly
  • If you want to check your jam is ready then do this:-If you lift your spatula and pour jam,it should flow together and not in drops. Pour few drops of jam on a plate if it spreads then it is not ready,if it stays firm without moving then your jam is ready
