Erissery is the one of the main dishes for kerala sadhya. I tried many types of erissery but this erissery is my favorite among them. I used cabbage and moong dal for this recipe.This is very easy to prepare and it’s taste is different from other erisserys. I prepared this erissery for vishu sadhya. Ingredients
Moong dal-1/2 cup
Chopped cabbage-1 cup
Grated coconut-1 cup
Cumin seeds-1/2 tsp
Garlic-2
Turmeric powder-1/4 tsp
Chili powder-1 tsp
For tempering:
Mustard seeds-1/2 tsp
Small onions-5-6
Red chilies-3-4
Curry leaves-few
Grated Coconut-5 tbs
Method Of Preparation
- Cook the moong dal until it becomes soft
- Add chopped cabbage in it, then add turmeric powder, chili powder and salt in it and cook for few minutes
- Grind Coconut with cumin seeds and garlic in it
- Mix the grounded coconut paste with the cooked cabbage and moong dal mixture
- Finally do the tempering and add the tempering in the above mixture
- Tasty Cabbage erissery is ready to serve hot with rice
