Today’s recipe is a tasty roast with kallumakaya/kadukka/Mussels.This is very popular in Malabar region of kerala.We can prepare many recipes using this kallumakaya but this one is very easy to prepare .You can serve it as a side dish for rice.Let us come to the recipe

Ingredients
Mussels-1/2kg
Onion sliced-1
Shallots-6-8
Tomato-1
Ginger-small piece
Garlic-6-8 pods
Turmeric Powder-1/4 tsp
Chili Powder-1 tbs
Coriander Powder-1 tbs
Pepper Powder=1/2 tbs
Garam Masala-1/2 tbs
Curry leaves
Oil-2 tbs
Method Of Preparation
- Boil the mussels in enough water till the shells open.Wash and clean the inner part of the mussel
- Drain all the water and scoop out the mussels from the shell
- Marinate the mussels with turmeric powder,chili powder and salt
- Take this marinated mussels in a pan and cook it with water
- Heat oil in another pan add sliced onion and shallots in it and fry till it changes color
- Add ginger and garlic in it and saute it well for a minute
- Add chopped tomato in it and cook till it become soft
- Add coriander powder,garam masala and pepper powder in it and finally add cooked mussels in it and mix well and cook it for 5 minutes
- Finally add curry leaves in it
- Tasty mussel roast is ready to serve hot with rice
